The parallel line tools in MacDraft 7 have had an overhaul. They now work more like walls, making it easier for you to draw and layout your floor plans. In addition, you can now add extra sections to your parallel lines without breaking them up. Working with walls, creating floor plans and using parallel lines in MacDraft has never been easier and smoother than it is in MacDraft 7. You’ll also find applying attributes and editing your parallel lines options faster and easier with the new drawing options system and interface.
One of the biggest requests we’ve had for this new version of MacDraft was to be able to change the thickness of new and existing parallel lines. This made us realise that the current way of doing so isn’t obvious enough as you have always been able to do this. So what we have done is made the panel appear every time a parallel line tool is selected and when parallel line objects are selected in the document. This way you can set your Thickness, Alignment, End Caps and Cornering right from the start and when you have already drawn a wall. In addition to this the main resize options are available quickly via the Resize Options in the new Properties panel.
Adding walls to existing floor plans has never been easier. You can now simply select the extrude walls tool and create a wall from and to existing parallel lines. In previous versions of MacDraft, to add a new wall to your floor plan you had to ‘break up’ your walls, basically turning your parallel lines back into normal lines. This new method will connect walls/parallel lines to create perfectly crisp rooms within your floor plans and will keep all walls as, well, walls! This vastly speeds up your design process! You’ll also find that as the walls remain as walls, you will be able to use the parallel line attributes to fill your walls, rooms and borders at the click of a mouse button.
Now with the new wall/parallel line system, editing your walls has never been easier. Not only can you change the walls using the resize system, but you can drag and move them simply with the mouse. In addition to this, the MacDraft 7 Pro version offers a Add/Remove handle tool, that we have improved to allow you to add and remove sections of walls from your document. This will also refomat the fills and borders to suit the newly drawn walls.
