The text system in MacDraft 7 has been redesigned and re-built from the ground up. This new system brings all the power of the system text and the familiar text features for fonts, styles and attributes. With the new text system we have been able to implement a range of improvements and benefits in MacDraft 7 including fully scaled text, spelling and grammer, vector text creation and much more. We have known for a while that the text in earlier versions of MacDraft often needed gentle persuasion to behave correctly. Considering all of these text and labelling limitations we went into the MacDraft 7 re-write with an open mind when it came to the text system. After numerous concepts and brainstorming exercises, we decided that the best way would be to completely re-write the text system from the ground up and utilise the familiar and powerful system text features to bring the MacDraft 7 text and labelling system to a modern standard. With the new text capabilities, MacDraft 7 has all the power and ease of use we expect from MacDraft, plus it now has some new and improved features, giving you much more stable and advanced text.
With the new text system we have been able to incorporate the spelling and grammar facilities provided by the system. You can now turn automatic spelling and grammar options on for the text in your documents. This will allow you to concentrate on the other aspects of your drawings, with the confidence that MacDraft is monitoring the text in your layouts. In addition to this you can run a spell check and correct spellings yourself. You’ll even be able to define your own spellings and get MacDraft to learn the way you want your spelling and grammar to behave.
We understand that sometimes the text frame in paragraph text does not always fit the text inside. This is called clipped text in MacDraft and we have come up with a much easier way to fix it. In MacDraft 7, when you have paragraph text that does not fit inside it’s frame, you be notified with a red line and small cipped text icon. You can the resize the text box to make the text fit, or with the new feature, you can double click the small red icon and it will resize the height of the text box to fit the text inside. This will make it much faster and easier for you to manage those moments when text doesnt quite fit.
MacDraft 7 now allows you to convert your text elements to 100% vector graphics. This will give you the ability to edit the attributes of the text element as if it was a normal vector object. In addition it will allow you to manipulate parts of the text to create your own unique text styles for personal branding and logo design. This new feature will mean you can add gradients and patterns to your titles as vector graphics and have full control over your designs.
With the new text system you’ll have access to the system font book and text styling options straight from within MacDraft 7. This will allow you to use any fonts that are installed on your machine via the system font book. Not only that but you can also have access to any of the styles that are linked to that font. So if you have a special font which has a light and ultra light style, then you can use them within the new text system.
The new text system has given access to the database of emojis and symbols. These can be added to your text elements with ease and can be used throughout your documents. You can then use the font size to choose how big or small they should be.
