Microspot Ltd. has announced the release of MacDraft Professional version 6.0.5, an update for its increasingly popular 2D Drafting, Design and Illustration software for Mac OS X. This is a FREE update for all MacDraft 6.0 users. Included in this update is improved functionality for supporting DWG files and fixes and improvements of previous versions. The release of this update re-affirms Microspot's support for it's thousands of loyal customers worldwide.

Microspot Ltd. has announced the release of the 25th anniversary editions of MacDraft Professional and MacDraft Personal Edition. These are major new versions of the program that was first sold in 1985 to compete with Apple's MacDraw. It is a tribute to the quality, ease of use and popularity of this product that it has survived and developed into a powerful 2D design, drafting and technical illustration program for users of all levels.

Today Microspot Ltd. developers of 2D and 3D graphics and photo applications, announced the release of a new version of Microspot Interiors Professional for the Apple Macintosh with new tools for wall editing and vertex editing, and creation tools for two new cuboids with chamfered and rounded edges. This new version will appeal to professional and amateur interior designers but, also because of its superior and easy to use modeling and animation tools, it will also appeal to product designers who wish to model and present their designs in realistic looking settings.

Alan J. Maki owner of Beyond Basics Drafting & Design has been using MacDraft since 1985 and in that time has designed his Builder Pro libraries that allow him to be more efficient in the design process. Thanks to his libraries and MacDraft he can produce an average of 160 new home and remodeling plans a year working a 10-15 hour week.   Alan says “With MacDraft and my libraries I concentrate on what is really needed and so I produce drawings in a fraction of the time it takes other home designers.”

Microspot Ltd. developers of 2D and 3D graphics and photo applications, announced the release of Microspot 3D Toolbox  a unique “build your own” 3D application which may be expanded into an advanced modeling, rendering and animation package.  The free download enables you to Import 3DS and Google SketchUp models into the application, add a background and base plate and then position, resize and do simple editing on the scene ready for  viewing and printing.

Both versions of Interiors have been improved to better handle files where the same texture appears multiple times.  Previously each instance of a texture was processed and saved separately. Now the program recognises identical textures and keeps only one copy of each.  This results in vastly smaller files and faster operation when room designs with multiple instances of the same texture are viewed.

Animation brings designs to life and allows them to be distributed using QuickTime. Two new tools and three new palettes have been added to make it easy to create animations of the camera, objects, lights, the sun, textures and colors.

Spotlight is Tiger's lightning-fast search technology that illuminates every corner of your Mac, displaying results as fast as you type.  Robert Coulling, M.D. of Microspot said "The great thing is the spotlight plug-in works with existing MacDraft files so as soon as you install Tiger and MacDraft v 5.5.7 your searches  will find text in any MacDraft file and make finding particular drawings much easier than before."

Microspot Ltd, developers of 2D and 3D graphics and photo applications, have announced the release of Microspot DWG Viewer for Mac OS X. Microspot DWG Viewer is a product based on Microspot MacDraft. It allows users to view and print DWG files in 2D on Mac OS X v10.2.8 or higher. Each layer of the drawing may be shown or grayed or hidden and displayed at various zoom levels. The drawing can be printed to scale and using the Save to PDF option may be saved as a PDF file.

In the downloadable version, users will receive the Interiors 3.4 application and Furniture Libraries to download immediately. Microspot have also introduced an Interiors User Area online. This area is available for all Interiors users and provides a helpful guide with simple step-by-step instructions on how to build a room and add furniture. The Interiors User Area will also include a Library of the Month, featuring various types of furniture as well as completed rooms to download.
